E2 Metals confirms new gold-silver mineralised corridor at Argentina project
E2 Metals (ASX: E2M) reports that ongoing infill and step-out drilling at its Malvina prospect is continuing to deliver high-grade silver and gold mineralisation.
Malvina is part of the company’s the Conserrat gold and silver project located in the Santa Cruz province of Argentina.
The latest assays include 5m at 4.2 grams per tonne gold and 1,174g/t silver (from 60m), 6m at 2.9g/t gold and 638g/t silver (from 44m), and 6.1m at 1g/t gold and 194g/t silver from 111.9m.
E2 Metals says the high-grade mineralisation has been defined by 14 drill holes over a 325m strike with a weighted average grade of 2.2g/t gold and 592g/t silver.
Meanwhile, scout drilling at the Malvina Sur — located on a separate, and parallel, structure 600m south of Malvina — has returned the first high-grade mineralisation at the prospect, with 2m at 5.6g/t gold and 119g/t silver.
Near-surface mineralisation, highest silver grades so far
Conserrat is host to a newly recognised and largely concealed epithermal vein field centred 25km along trend from AngloGold Ashanti’s (ASX: AGG) Cerro Vanguardia mine (historical and current reserves 8.9 million ounces of gold and 137Moz of silver).
E2 Metals managing director Todd Williams said it was pleasing that Malvina is continuing to deliver near-surface mineralisation, including some of the highest silver grades to date within the Conserrat project.
The discovery of mineralisation 600m to the south at Malvina Sur highlights the potential for further mineralisation shoots under younger Tertiary basalt cover, which cover is widespread throughout the project, he added.
Drilling points to new gold and silver district
“Importantly, Malvina and Malvina Sur are located 2km east of Andrea Sur where recent drilling returned 15m at 16g/t gold and 22g/t silver.”
This supports E2 Metals’ thesis that Conserrat represents a new gold and silver district.
Malvina is host to a largely concealed silver and gold mineralised vein and structure located in the central area of the project.
Infill drilling at the prospect has been on sections spaced 25m to 50m apart.
