Alto Metals (ASX:AME) has reported that follow-up reverse circulation drilling at its Indomitable Camp in Western Australia has intersected gold at depth and over width.

This second phase drill program has now returned a wide intersection with three higher-grade intervals.

The hole intercepted 24m at 2.2 grams per tonne from 160m down hole, including 16m at 3.0g/t (from 167m), 1m at 8.8g/t (from 175m) and 1m at 9.4g/t (from 182m).

The Indomitable Camp lies within the company’s 100% owned Sandstone gold project

Gold outside the current resource area

This second phase comprises about 5000m of deeper RC drilling as a follow-up to the drilling program completed earlier this year.

The current program includes the deepest RC drilling undertaken at Indomitable to date with drill holes planned to about 300m down hole.

Not only is the 24m intercept now reported the deepest significant gold mineralisation intersected to date, but it sits outside the existing mineral resource area as it lies beneath Alto Metals’ optimised pit shell plan.

First results encouraging

Managing director Matthew Bowles said the 24m intersection again highlights the significant depth of weathering in the system and the potential for mineralisation in primary rock at depth.

“Whilst very early in the program, and not to be taken out of context, the initial results from these first holes is encouraging,” he added.

This latest announcement follows recently released assays from this follow-up program which built on the emerging gold story, one hole returning 16m at 13.1g/t gold, including two higher grade intervals of 3m at 62.2g/t and 1m at 122.6g/t.

Another hole assayed over 80m at 1.6g/t gold (from 21m own hole), including 10m at 5.2g/t.

Most of the resource at shallow depth

Additionally Alto Metals recently reported an increase to its mineral resource estimate to 17.6 million tonnes at 1.5 g/t gold for a contained 832,00 oz within the planned pit shell.

About 90% of that resource lies at depths of less than 150m.

The Indomitable Camp is at present defined over a 3km strike length.
