A notable intercept from the southern part of the Bindi East Limb was 108m at 0.55% copper, including 50m at 0.87% copper.

Copied

Recent assays from the southern part of the Bindi East Limb target within Caravel Minerals’ (ASX: CVV) namesake copper project in Western Australia’s wheatbelt region continue to show wide zones of higher-grade copper mineralisation.

The zones were identified last month during a 10,000m infill drilling program designed to increase grade and copper-molybdenum distribution for inclusion in the project’s pre-feasibility study.

Results from eight reverse circulation percussion drill holes confirmed a continuity of copper mineralisation in Bindi’s shallower parts, occurring as zones of quartz vein stringers and disseminations of copper-molybdenum sulphides (chalcopyrite and molybdenite) within a deformed and metamorphosed granite-gneiss host rock.

Best intercepts

Highlights included 92m at 0.33% copper from 34m to 126m; 54m at 0.37% copper from 132m to 186m; 52m at 0.30% copper from 32m to 84m; 8m at 0.96% copper from 202m to 210m; and 30m at 1.16% copper at 220m to 250m.

Other results were 52m at 0.34% copper from 46m to 98m; and 108m at 0.55% copper from 104m to 212m, including 50m at 0.87% copper from 106m to 156m.

Caravel said the results were particularly significant at the southern end of Bindi East, where preliminary interpretations suggest a synformal fold closure may be developed and mineralisation remains open at depth and to the east.

A new geological model is being prepared for the area and an update will be provided later this month to outline the significance of the new resource potential at Bindi.

String of strong results

In recent months, Caravel has reported a string of strong results from drilling at Bindi and the nearby Dasher deposit.

An updated resource estimate for Bindi is planned for July, incorporating the results of all recent reverse circulation percussion and diamond drill holes.

Similarly, the latest results from Dasher will be incorporated into an updated resource estimate for that area.

All updated figures will form the basis of pre-feasibility studies for the Caravel project.
