Brightstar Resources Unveils New Gold Opportunities at Laverton Hub in WA

Brightstar Resources (ASX: BTR) continues to ramp up activities at the Second Fortune and Fish underground operations at its Laverton Hub in Western Australia.
The company has identified new opportunities to add increased gold ounces to the Second Fortune operation through a targeted drill-out of the newly discovered “FTV Lode”, to the north of the Main Lode.
In the past, the “northern fault” that represented the lateral extent of the mineralisation to the north had constrained mining at Second Fortune.
Fish Production
Production is underway at Fish, with first ore hauled to Genesis’s Laverton mill and Brightstar gaining access to the first ore drive, via the 1350 level the company excavated in late June.
Executive director of operations Andrew Rich said Brightstar remained focused on growing its production profile in line with its recently announced ‘TARGET200’ strategy, targeting more than 200,000 ounces per annum within five years.
The company is preparing for a further ramp-up in production at Fish during the September 2025 quarter while progressing drilling programs at both Fish and Second Fortune to support targeted mineral resource upgrades and mine life extensions.
With the release of the definitive feasibility study in late June, the company is advancing debt project financing workstreams and operational readiness activities to enable a final investment decision and mine development.
Yunndaga Drilling Underway
Brightstar recently commenced its next phase of drilling at the Yunndaga deposit, which hosts a current resource of 3.4 million tonnes at 1.4 grams per tonne for 156,000 ounces of gold.
The Yunndaga area was a substantial historical gold producer, with Menzies Consolidated Gold Mines extracting over 270,000 ounces at an average grade of more than 16g/t from 1896 to 1943
Brightstar’s second phase aims to both step out from previous infill areas and target extensions to the resource, both at depth and along strike to the north.
A diamond drilling component of the program will provide crucial geotechnical data and metallurgical samples, facilitating further development work at the deposit.
