Brightstar Resources (ASX: BTR) has received positive results from further reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its Sandstone Hub in the East Murchison region of Western Australia.

The new programs targeted extensions to mineralisation beneath the shallow historical workings across a number of Sandstone’s prospects.

The results have boosted Brightstar’s confidence that it can add to the project’s current mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 1.5 million ounces of gold at 1.5 grams per tonne.

Shallow Extensions Targeted

New drilling at the Hacks West prospect – 2 kilometres west of the historic Hacks Mine, which produced approximately 200,000oz of gold at 24g/t – has returned highlights including 1m at 38.3g/t.

At the Havilah Camp, the RC drilling further tested the down plunge extension of the previously reported intercept of 3m at 11.4g/t gold from 129m not included in the current gold resource of 54,000oz.

Drilling at the Bulchina prospect aimed to follow up significant gold intersected in shallow historical drilling along strike to the south of the main Bulchina Deposit that historically produced 230,000oz of gold at 3.62g/t.

Systematic Testing

“Alongside our substantial infill drilling programs, we have also been systematically testing some of the high-priority exploration targets at the project, an approach fully justified by the results from the three early-stage prospects reported here,” managing director Alex Rovira said.

Brightstar regards Havilah as the most advanced of the three and intends to include these drilling results in the Sandstone MRE update at the deposit, with significant follow up programs planned to fully delineate the high-grade shoots.

“Hacks West and Bulchina are at a much earlier stage, but intersecting high grades in first-pass drilling suggests the prospects have genuine potential to develop into substantial assets,” Mr Rovira said.

“We firmly believe we are only scratching the surface of the immense exploration potential at our Sandstone Hub.”
