BPH Global books $150,000 in first-month revenue from Indonesian seaweed venture

Plant-based biotechnology company BPH Global (ASX: BP8) has reported first-month revenue of approximately $150,000 from its new seaweed sales operation in Indonesia.
BPH recorded the strong result over four weeks from 14 May and it included $95,000 in export revenue and $55,000 from Indonesia.
The company’s seaweed business sources, processes and exports sustainably harvested seaweed from coastal farming communities in the Nunukan region of north Kalimantan.
Sales agreement
BPH made sales during the first month to wholesale buyers PT Surya Seaweed Indonesia and South Korea-based food ingredient manufacturer MSC, reflecting encouraging demand across key regional markets.
The transactions occurred through a sales co-operation agreement BPH signed with Indonesian company PT Kebula Raya Bestari in April.
BPH expects the initial 12-month agreement to help fast-track its seaweed supply arrangements with the country’s offtake buyers.
The company will procure approximately 200 tonnes of seaweed per month for sales purposes, with specific quantities subject to agreement between the two parties.
Early traction
BPH managing director Matthew Leonard said the strong sales performance reflected early traction with domestic and international customers and highlighted the commercial potential of the seaweed operation.
“We are encouraged by the strong start to our Indonesian seaweed venture—the response from customers has exceeded our expectations and validates our investment in this growing sector,” he said.
“As we scale up production and secure trade financing and new offtake agreements, we are confident of building a robust revenue stream aligned with our sustainability values and global market trends.”
Growing demand
Mr Leonard said BPH would remain focused on scaling volumes to meet growing demand while maintaining product quality and strengthening market presence.
“We are actively engaged in negotiations for additional offtake agreements and we expect trading volumes to increase over the coming months,” he said.
BPH’s community partnerships ensure traceability and responsible harvesting practices and are core to the company’s focus on environmental sustainability and community development.
