Australian uranium developer Boss Energy (ASX: BOE) has added a highly experienced new member to its management team as it ramps up its Honeymoon project in South Australia.

New chief operating officer Matt Dusci brings more than 25 years of experience in all facets of the mining industry including technical studies, project development, operations, business development, strategy and executive leadership.

Most recently, he spent ten years at IGO (ASX: IGO), where he held roles as chief operating officer and chief growth officer.

Major growth role

Boss chief executive officer Duncan Craib said Mr Dusci played a major role in the growth, development and transformation of IGO.

“With the ramp-up at Honeymoon proceeding so well, we are advancing our strategy to grow the project’s inventory, production rate and mine life,” Mr Craib said.

Mr Craib highlighted the value of Mr Dusci’s knowledge and experience at both a project management level and as a senior resource industry executive as Boss implements its strategy.

“As part of this strategy, we are committed to building a world-class team of highly skilled and experienced people who can help ensure we maximise our huge opportunities.”

Honeymoon progress

Mr Dusci’s appointment comes as Boss continues to make strong progress in the commissioning and production ramp-up of the Honeymoon uranium mine.

Earlier this month, Mr Craib said the company had continued to meet or exceed its key targets and is comfortably on track to meet its production guidance.

“The first ion exchange (IX) circuit is now operating at nameplate capacity, proving that the technology works at the rate and scale forecast in the feasibility study,” he said.

“Commissioning of the second IX circuit is underway and construction of the third is advancing rapidly.”

Milestones continue

Approaching milestones include wet-commissioning and sequence-testing of the project’s Column 2, which is expected to commence production this month.

Boss revealed construction of Column 3 is on target for commissioning and production in the December quarter.

Mr Craib said the Honeymoon ramp-up is in line with feasibility study forecasts, with production continuing to increase.
