Battery Age Minerals (ASX: BM8) is preparing to meet with Argentinian officials after receiving initial environmental and drilling authorisation for a maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at its El Aguila gold-silver project.

Argentine operations manager Salvador Broens is now preparing to fly to the city of Río Gallegos to discuss final approval after the completion of a review of the company’s environmental impact assessment (EIA).

Battery Age Minerals entered a farm-in agreement in January 2025 to acquire up to 100% of El Aguila from Fredonia Mining.

Drill Contractor Appointed

The company has already appointed a drill contractor, technical geologists, and field technicians; it has also secured sample preparation and assay services in anticipation of receiving final approval for the maiden drilling program.

In the meantime, the company is establishing site infrastructure, along with communications and environmental monitoring protocols, ahead of its mobilisation of a drilling rig.

Battery Age has identified a pipeline of targets across the El Aguila project through an examination of high-resolution soil geochemistry, ground magnetics, and gradient induced polarisation / resistivity work.

The proposed RC drilling program will combine resource definition drilling with discovery growth upside.

‘Collaborative Approach’

Chief executive officer Nigel Broomham called the approval an “important milestone for Battery Age and the El Aguila project” that will allow drilling preparations to proceed while the company completes the EIA process.

“This outcome highlights the constructive and collaborative approach of the Santa Cruz authorities and reinforces the strength of our local partnerships,” he said.

“With regulatory approval secured and preparations complete, Battery Age is well positioned to advance toward its maiden drilling program and test the potential of this high-grade Au-Ag system.”

Comprehensive Program

The program of approximately 2,000 metres will include infill drilling to follow-up known gold–silver mineralisation, and test strike continuity and depth extensions for future potential resource growth and high-priority targets.

More than 100 high-grade surface samples have been recorded from the project, including 174.6 grams per tonne gold and 327g/t silver, while historical drilling also returned multiple high-grade gold-silver intersections including 0.55m at 40.55g/t gold and 107g/t silver.

“El Aguila adds meaningful depth to our portfolio, complementing our cornerstone Bleiberg Germanium Project in Austria,” Mr Broomham said.

“Germanium remains a highly strategic and valuable pillar of our business and progressing El Aguila in parallel strengthens Battery Age’s diversified growth profile across both critical and precious metals.”
