Authorised Investment Fund’s (ASX: AIY) investee Asian Integrated Media Pty Limited (AIM) is set to manage in-flight media sales for 10 Chinese airlines as part of a global deal announced today with China-based aviation supplier TD Link.

The deal will target a total in-flight media audience of more than 40 million passengers per month and includes the nation’s three main international carriers: Air China, China Southern and China Eastern.

This latest agreement will be in addition to AIM’s existing contracts with Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon.

Under the agreement, AIM’s advertiser client base will be able to promote their brands specifically within the Chinese market, using TD Link’s digital aviation operation platform.

The platform offers an end-to-end solution for partners including ad management, data distribution, e-commerce operations, content management and data analytics, as well as personalised and targeted content segmented by passenger, cabin, airline and advertiser.

AIM chief executive officer Peter Jeffery said the opportunity to work with one of the world’s leading aviation markets is a big win for the company.

“This agreement is a tremendous addition to our existing portfolio and we can now provide brands with multiple channels to reach Chinese travellers,” he said.

“We are delighted to be working with TD Link to provide the opportunity for our advertiser client base to promote their brands specifically within the China market.”

International travellers from China now constitute the largest travel market in the world, with passengers spending in excess of US$235 billion per year

Asian Integrated Media and TD Link

Founded in Hong Kong in 2003, AIM represents premium media titles and digital platforms such as Cathay Pacific, Cathay Dragon and Condé Nast International across Asia, Australia, Europe and North America.

In April 2018, the company entered into an exclusive agreement with Authorised Investment Fund allowing it to acquire a 25% interest with an option to increase to 30% before 2021.

TD Link is a digital cabin service provider part-owned by Blue Focus Group, with a strong business built across many Chinese and international airlines.

Established in 2015, it was one of the earliest technology companies to become engaged in in-flight entertainment and communication (IFEC) business investment and operation.

Mr Jeffery said the TD Link deal compliments what AIM is already achieving in its work with leading airlines using the China Elite digital advertising and programmatic advertising platform.
