Austco Healthcare awarded $1.7m contract for Singapore hospital communications upgrade
Austco Healthcare (ASX: AHC) has been awarded an additional $1.7 million contract for the Phase 2 upgrade of the Tacera nurse call platform at Jurong Health Complex in Singapore.
The news follows an initial $3.8m contract announced in November and takes the company’s open sales orders to a new record total of more than $40m.
Austco provides advanced clinical workflow management solutions to the international healthcare sector, including aged and acute care.
Innovative solutions
The Jurong upgrade will implement Austco’s innovative solutions to revolutionise patient care and operational efficiency across the facility, which comprises the 700-bed Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and the 400-bed Jurong Community Hospital.
It will expand on advanced communications capabilities introduced in Phase 1 to respond more effectively to patient needs and is expected to set a new benchmark in the healthcare industry.
Key features will include further deployment of Austco’s real-time location system-enabled call points to improve staff locating and duress notifications, enhanced workflow automation and patient safety features, as well as continued integration with other hospital systems to enable real-time communication and streamlined patient care processes.
‘Prestigious project’
Austco chief executive officer Clayton Astles said the company was keen to continue its partnership with Jurong.
“Our selection for this prestigious project is a testament to the value of our innovative approach to healthcare communication and dedication to delivering solutions that help improve patient outcomes,” he said.
“Austco’s care communications solution meets Jurong Health’s immediate needs and lays the foundation for future advancements and expansions in healthcare services.”
“It also solidifies our position as a leading provider of healthcare communication technology in Asia.”
Surrey contract
Austco was awarded a $5m contract in July for the installation of the Tacera solution at Surrey Hospital in British Columbia.
The new state-of-the-art facility will feature over 650 beds (including 48 intensive care unit and 25 neonatal intensive care unit beds) and Canada’s second-largest emergency department, with specialised care areas for children and mental health patients.
Austco’s advanced clinical workflow solution at Surrey will feature over 513 full internet protocol patient stations, 559 clinical workflow terminals and Webservices interfaces for seamless systems integration.
Critical messages, including medical emergency notifications, will be delivered to application stations installed throughout the facility, ensuring staff are promptly notified and can act quickly.
Two-way audio will also connect patients to healthcare personnel in real time, improving workflow, driving efficiencies and reducing risk.
