Audeara Confirms First Commercial Chinese Order Under Eastech Licensing Agreement

Audeara (ASX: AUA) has received its first purchase order under its licensing agreement with Eastech (Huizhou), a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastech Holding Limited, marking its formal entry into the Chinese hearing aid market.
The initial order for 1,000 hearing aid technology licence keys demonstrates early commercial traction for Audeara’s proprietary hearing technology in one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing healthcare markets.
Chief executive officer Dr James Fielding said the milestone highlights the strength of the company’s partnership with Eastech and its potential to reach millions of consumers through major e-commerce platforms.
Commercial Launch Planned for Fourth Quarter
Under the existing licensing agreement, Audeara will supply its proprietary software and engineering expertise to Eastech for use in hearing aid products developed under China’s National Medical Products Administration certification.
Production will begin shortly, with the launch to take place in the December quarter of 2025.
Audeara will distribute the final products through a third-party purchaser and sell them via leading Chinese e-commerce platforms including Tmall, JD.com, and Pinduoduo.
The company will receive royalties per unit sold under the licensing agreement, and while there are no minimum purchase obligations, the future financial impact will depend on product uptake and subsequent order volumes.
Future Outlook and Royalty Model
China’s $10 billion hearing aid market represents one of the largest global opportunities for hearing health technology, with an estimated 426 million people affected by hearing loss in 2019, including more than 95 million with moderate to severe impairment.
That figure is projected to rise to 561 million by 2034, equivalent to more than 40% of the population.
Audeara is confident the collaboration with Eastech will provide a scalable pathway into this high-growth market, and support its strategy to expand global distribution channels across Asia, Europe, and North America.
“This is a significant milestone for Audeara that demonstrates the traction of our technology and the strength of our collaboration with Eastech in bringing personalised hearing solutions to one of the largest healthcare markets in the world,” Dr Fielding said.
