Verity Resources (ASX: VRL) has received regulatory approval for the renewal of four key prospecting licences covering its core landholding along eastern Botswana’s Limpopo Mobile Belt.

The renewed licences secure tenure over the Airstrip and Dibete high-grade copper-silver discoveries, together with the Maibele North nickel-copper-platinum group elements (PGE) mineral resource of 2.4 million tonnes at 0.72% nickel, 0.21% copper, and 0.63 grams per tonne 4PGE+gold.

They sit within the same structural corridor as the mothballed Selebi and Selebi North nickel-copper-cobalt deposits held by NexMetals Mining Corporation and within trucking distance of the Selebi Phikwe concentrator and smelter complex.

NexMetals is progressing redevelopment studies for the mines, following a US$150 million letter of interest from the US Export-Import Bank in mid-2025 that underscored renewed institutional interest in the district.

Historical Drilling Results

Historical drilling at Airstrip has demonstrated the bonanza-grade nature of the vein-hosted system along the Magogophate Shear Zone, returning best intercepts of 11m at 7.63% copper and 462g/t silver from 52m including 3m at 22.74% copper and 1,379g/t silver, and 1.13m at 21.58% copper and 1,023g/t silver from 65m, with mineralisation remaining open at depth and along strike.

The Dibete prospect, located five kilometres away along the same shear corridor, has also previously returned thick high-grade copper-silver intercepts from a system largely untested below 120m depth.

Best historical assays have been 36m at 1.37% copper and 70g/t silver from 12m including 2.5m at 7.41% copper and 456g/t silver, and 25m at 2.17% copper and 77g/t silver from 27m including 6m at 4.46% copper and 162g/t silver.

A regional versatile time-domain electromagnetic dataset identified 23 untested anomalies outside the three flagship prospects, which together represent less than 10% of Verity’s total Botswana project area.

Securing a Regional Position

Verity director Patrick Volpe said the licence renewal secured the company’s regional position for a further two years.

“This is the ground that carries our defined copper, silver, nickel, PGE, and gold endowment in Botswana and holding it on a firm footing gives us the runway to get back to uncovering the potential of the large-scale copper-silver targets,” he said.

“The district has changed considerably since this ground was last actively drilled with Selebi and Selebi North being brought back into the frame by NexMetals and the Selebi Phikwe plant and smelter remaining in place—we hold a meaningful position in that corridor and intend to capitalise on it.”

He said a first-pass soil sampling campaign at the newly granted PL123/2024 licence would screen for further copper-silver-gold-nickel mineralisation over 903 sq km of the Limpopo Mobile Belt, with first samples being dispatched to an ALS laboratory in South Africa for assay on completion.
