Rincon Resources (ASX: RCR) has confirmed multiple zones of significant gold and copper from drilling at the Hasties Main deposit in its Telfer South project, extending the strike of near-surface mineralisation by about 150 metres and strengthening confidence in the resource model.
The company completed a 14-hole, 1,350m reverse circulation program to build on the February 2025 mineral resource estimate of 870,000 tonnes at 0.96 grams per tonne gold and 0.26% copper.
12 of the 14 holes intersected high-grade mineralisation, with standout results including 23m at 1.05g/t gold from 64m, 28m at 0.95% copper from 31m, and 38m at 0.67% copper from surface with 1m at 16.3% copper.
Strong Intercepts Enhance Resource Potential
The results have expanded the mineralised footprint of Hasties Main, while also confirming that mineralisation remains open both along strike and at depth.
Rincon said the consistency of grades across the program would contribute directly to an updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) the company plans to release in the March 2026 quarter.
Technical director Michael Griffiths said the grades encountered “match those outlined in the Hasties Main resource, and are comparable to ore currently being processed at the Telfer mine,” noting that drilling has effectively doubled the known strike length of the deposit.
He said the results were “highly encouraging” given that Hasties now exhibits both scale and grade similar to operating deposits in the Telfer district.
The company plans to accelerate follow-up drilling once new program-of-work permits are approved.
Stage 2 Drilling Campaign
Rincon has submitted permits for a second-stage drill campaign aimed at infilling and extending the resource along strike and at depth.
Samples from the current program are being prepared for metallurgical testing to assess recoveries and inform future processing studies.
The company is also finalising density measurements and plans to incorporate the new data into the revised MRE.
Rincon said Hasties continues to demonstrate its potential as a significant near-surface gold–copper system within the broader Telfer South project, which sits 10km south of the major Telfer mine in Western Australia’s Eastern Pilbara.
“The new results at depth are very exciting, and certainly give us scope to dramatically increase the ultimate size of this project," Mr Griffiths added.
