RemSense Technologies (ASX: REM) has been awarded $365,230 in contracts to deploy its virtualplant asset intelligence application across two additional offshore oil and gas platforms in Bass Strait operated by Woodside Energy (ASX: WDS).

Under the terms, RemSense will engage in the reality capture, processing, and creation of highly-detailed cloud-based visual twins of both platforms to support remote digital visual inspections, maintenance planning, and engineering workflows.

The technology reduces the need for site visits, improves asset integrity workflows, supports safer planning and inspection activities, and provides site teams with a consistent source of visual asset information.

The work will comprise aerial and terrestrial ultra-high-resolution LiDAR scanning and advanced 360-degree photogrammetry, as well as ongoing virtualplant access and subscription services enabling the parties to collaborate in real time.

RemSense’s work with Woodside since 2018 has seen the relationship grow over time through the delivery and adoption of digital asset visualisation technologies across a broadening portfolio of assets.

Expanding Virtual Footprint

The new contracts represent a significant continuation and expansion of RemSense’s presence in offshore Victoria following the transition of operations from Esso Australia to Woodside in July.

They will expand RemSense’s virtualplant footprint with Woodside to 10 offshore and onshore assets across Australia—five along Western Australia’s North West Shelf, and five in Bass Strait.

“The continued expansion of virtualplant following Woodside’s transition to the Bass Strait operations provides a natural opportunity to build on both of those foundations,” RemSense chief executive officer Warren Cook said.

“The addition of another two offshore platforms strengthens our growing relationship with Woodside and demonstrates the repeatable and scalable deployment model we are targeting with Tier 1 energy and resources operators."

“Our team is scheduled to mobilise to both platforms next week, reflecting the pace at which we are able to convert new awards into on-site delivery.”

Applus+ Partnership

Woodside is not the first oil and gas major to be working with RemSense, with the technology specialist locking in a contract for the delivery of virtualplant to an undisclosed Tier 1 operator in June.

Under the terms of that agreement, RemSense and strategic partner Applus+ will work to deliver ground and drone-based imagery capture, processing and delivery via virtualplant for an offshore platform.

It builds on RemSense’s growing relationship with Applus+ and further validates the company’s strategy to secure repeatable, high-value engagements with global energy operators.

The total contract value is $153,750, with work scheduled for completion in July 2026.
