- 01- FY26 guidance withdrawn; revisit Sept.
- 02- Labour, occupancy, regs headwinds.
- 03- Mayfield 360 revenue; gradual scale.
Mayfield Childcare (ASX: MFD) has withdrawn its 2026 financial year earnings guidance after mounting operating pressures reduced confidence in the assumptions underpinning its previous outlook.
The childcare operator cited labour costs, occupancy volatility, wage increases, regulatory changes, and broader sector conditions as key factors affecting expected performance.
Mayfield is not providing revised guidance while its board and management assess the financial impact of the changing operating environment.
The company intends to revisit its earnings outlook in September following the release of its half-year results.
Mayfield previously issued guidance for underlying group EBITDA and underlying centre earnings in March, and expects to provide updated guidance once it has sufficient visibility over these variables and their combined impact on centre-level performance.
Mayfield 360 Begins Revenue
Mayfield 360 has progressed from its pilot phase into customer onboarding and initial revenue generation.
The company’s allied health and developmental support program is transitioning eligible families from the existing pilot cohort into billable services delivered through its early learning network.
Management considers the first revenue an important step in validating the service model and its potential commercial application.
The company plans to scale the program gradually while maintaining service quality, family engagement, compliance and sustainable delivery.
Banking Talks Continue
Mayfield’s existing Westpac banking facility extension is scheduled to mature on 31 August 2026.
The company remains in discussions with Westpac regarding a further extension and will update investors if a material development occurs.
Mayfield continues to focus on centre performance, occupancy improvement, labour cost management, fee settings and commercialisation of Mayfield 360.
A review of cost structures across the network, with a focus on improving operating consistency and strengthening the group’s financial position, is ongoing.
Mayfield operates 45 childcare centres with more than 4,000 registered places across Victoria, Queensland, and South Australia.
