Lion Rock Minerals (ASX: LRM) has announced additional high-grade rutile results from its Minta rutile and monazite project in Cameroon, with in-situ rutile grades reaching up to 1.8% and several results exceeding 1% from residual targets across the project area.
The second batch of reconnaissance drilling results confirms the substantial scale and high-value mineral assemblage of the project, with drilling now completed across a target area exceeding 5,000 square kilometres at broad 1km by 10km spacings.
The latest mineralogy results include in-situ grades of up to 1.8% total rutile, with the rutile assemblage reaching as high as 39.8%.
Five locations recorded 1% or more total in-situ rutile from residual targets, while 40 locations recorded significant in-situ rutile grades of 0.5% or above, averaging 0.7%.
The company plans to concentrate its ongoing exploration on the central Minta and Minta Est areas, where the strongest mineralisation and highest economic potential have been consistently demonstrated.
HM Results Support Dual Strategy
Standout heavy mineral intercepts from residual targets include 2.81 metres at 11.34% from surface and 5.67m at 9.21% from surface, with alluvial targets delivering 4m at 12.5% from surface and 8m at 11.1% from 1m depth.
The verification of the expansive Yong river basin, measuring 750 metres wide and extending up to 20km in length, highlights the potential for alluvial rutile, zircon, and monazite mineralisation.
Infill drilling is underway at Minta Est, targeting both residual soil plateaus and expansive river basins where heavy minerals are naturally concentrated, while independent analysis has confirmed that the setting, geometry, and hydrology of the Minta Est alluvial channels are suitable for dredge-mining development.
The dual residual-alluvial approach provides the company with the opportunity to delineate multiple deposit styles across a very large footprint.
Laboratory and Field Operations Advancing
Construction of the proposed Yaoundé laboratory is advancing, with heavy liquid separation to be commissioned in January 2026.
Chief executive officer Casper Adson said the Yaoundé laboratory “will materially accelerate turnaround times, improve data quality, and support rapid decision-making as the company progresses toward defining an economic resource.”
Lion Rock is finalising recruitment of laboratory and management staff to support expanded field operations and enable faster processing of results.
The company also recently completed a field trip to the monazite and rutile targeting program at Minta Est, and will provide an update on the progress of this program in due course.
