James Bay Minerals adds talent to experienced lithium team

Newly listed James Bay Minerals (ASX: JBY) has added to its already highly experienced lithium exploration team with the appointment of former Latin Resources (ASX: LRS) executive Brodie Box as senior technical advisor.

Mr Box was a key component in Latin Resources’ discovery of the high-quality Salinas lithium development project in Argentina and will bring more than 13 years of industry experience to assist James Bay with its exploration plans.

His role with James Bay will also include acting as the company’s competent person for all exploration works across the company’s portfolio of lithium projects in Quebec, Canada.

Highly qualified explorer

Mr Box holds a bachelor of science, mineral exploration and mining geology from the Western Australian School of Mines, is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and an employee of geological consultants Cadre Geology and Mining.

“We are excited to welcome Brodie to the James Bay Minerals team. A geologist of his calibre, with an eye for identifying high quality lithium assets will prove invaluable to the team,” said James Bay executive director, Andrew Dornan.

“Brodie has exceptional geological knowledge, having spent the past 13 years in the mining and exploration sector across various minerals and jurisdictions. We look forward to the coming years ahead, as we grow as a team and a company.”

High-quality team

Mr Box will be working alongside a well-regarded James Bay Minerals board comprised of:

Exploration activity already underway

Mr Box joins James Bay just four days after the company kicked off its maiden exploration campaign at its highly prospective Canadian lithium exploration permits.

The company has elected to turn its initial on-the-ground exploration focus towards its Aero property in the La Grande greenstone belt – a prime James Bay lithium play in Quebec.

Made up of 89 contiguous claims covering an area of 4,365 hectares, the Aero property includes approximately 12km of deformation zones which are considered highly prospective for large-scale lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites.

Aero’s prospectivity has been highlighted by its proximity to lithium discoveries at Cancet owned by Winsome Resources (ASX: WR1) and Corvette owned by Patriot Battery Metals (ASX: PMT).

Patriot recently unveiled a maiden Corvette inferred mineral resource estimate of 109.2 million tonnes at 1.42% lithium oxide and 160 parts per million tantalum pentoxide (0.40% lithium oxide cut-off grade).

Both Cancet and Corvette are located along the same major deformation zones which run through the Aero properties.

Aero also benefits from its location close to established infrastructure, including sealed roads which run through the property, allowing for easy access across the property.
