Iltani Resources Reports High-Grade Assays at Orient East Silver-Indium Target

Iltani Resources reports strong Orient East assays, including 9m at 66 g/t Ag, 12 g/t In, 1.7% Pb, 1.7% Zn, as drilling continues.

  • 01East Orient: high-grade Ag-In-Pb-Zn; 9m@66 g/t Ag, 12 g/t In.
  • 0240m: 20 g/t Ag; 1 g/t In; Pb 0.5%; Zn 0.6%.
  • 03West Orient: lower-grade; 7m@25 g/t Ag, 11 g/t In.

Iltani Resources (ASX: ILT) has delivered high-grade assays for four reverse circulation holes at the Orient East target as part of a 110-hole campaign at its Orient silver-indium project.

The holes returned multiple strong intercepts including an upper and lower zone of high-grade silver-lead-zinc-indium mineralisation with exceptional high-grade massive sulphides at the core.

Best results were 9 metres at 66 grams per tonne silver, 12g/t indium, 1.7% lead, and 1.7% zinc (215g/t AgEq) from 61m including 5m at 104g/t silver, 21g/t indium, 2.6% lead, and 2.5% zinc (334g/t AgEq) from 63m.

An intercept of 40m at 20g/t silver, 1g/t indium, 0.5% lead, and 0.6% zinc (66g/t AgEq) from 26m including 11m at 31g/t silver, 2g/t indium, 0.7% lead, and 1% zinc (106g/t AgEq) from 35m was another highlight.

Orient West Assays

Two drill holes at Orient West returned multiple intercepts of silver-lead-zinc-indium mineralisation considered not as high-grade as Orient East, with a best result of 7m at 25g/t silver, 11g/t indium, 0.7% lead and 1% zinc (103g/t AgEq) from 20m.

Iltani has so far completed 81 holes for a total of 15,485m at Orient East and Orient West, with a strong flow of results expected in the coming months.

Further exploration will be planned pending results of extension drilling and the testing of other targets, while a diamond rig will commence work this week to produce large-diameter core for beneficiation test work at Tomra labs in Sydney to establish its economic viability.

Iltani also holds a tenement over the low-tonnage Isabel copper-lead-zinc-indium-silver-rich massive sulphide deposit and the Isabel Extended high-grade copper-rich massive sulphide target.

High Level of Activity

Iltani managing director Donald Garner said the company was keeping busy at Orient.

“Our drilling program continues at Orient, […] with samples being submitted to the assay lab every two or three days and assays pending,” he said.

“With this high level of activity and about eight weeks of drilling to complete, we expect to have results flowing through the coming months as we work to fill the gap between Orient East and West, extend the mineralisation along strike, and improve grades and confidence.”

Orient is Australia’s largest known silver-indium deposit housed within the larger Herberton project, where Iltani holds 370 square kilometres of tenements in the highly-prospective Herberton mineral field.

The land covers a portion of the Boonmoo Sag Caldera, which contains several historical copper-silver-lead-zinc and gold targets including Orient.
