- 01HeraMED to roll HeraCARE at Lee Health; 200 patients.
- 02SaaS, patient app, HeraBEAT, Epic EMR integration.
- 03First 200 licences US$317k; SaaS with US$3b system.
HeraMED (ASX: HMD) will deliver the full-scale commercial deployment of its HeraCARE digital maternity care solution to clinics operated by major US health network Lee Health System.
The staged rollout will see the solution installed across numerous Lee Health obstetrics clinics commencing with onboarding of the next 200 pregnant women.
The deployment will include the HeraCARE patient companion application and clinician dashboards, HeraBEAT fetal heart rate monitors, four customised prenatal and postpartum care plans, and integration with the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.
The initial statement of work for the first 200 clients is valued at US$317,200, covering HeraCARE software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform licences, maternity monitoring kits, implementation fees, Epic integration and logistics fees, as well as device and application support for the next 200 clients.
HeraMED’s deployment contract establishes a recurring SaaS business model with a nationally recognised US$3 billion non-profit health system delivering more than 8,000 babies per year, at the same time providing a reference point for the company’s broader US commercialisation strategy.
Hybrid Obstetrics Model
The Lee Health scale-up follows a six-month pilot program that validated a hybrid obstetrics care model combining virtual prenatal visits, remote patient monitoring, fetal doppler, and blood pressure monitoring.
The program demonstrated that pre-natal care could be delivered through an 11-visit digital-first pathway, compared with approximately 15 in-person visits under the traditional obstetrics model, while maintaining the existing standard of care.
The deployment builds on strong pilot key performance indicators including 92% virtual adoption, 100% likelihood to recommend, a program net promoter score (NPS) of 60 and a remote patient monitoring NPS of 75.
HeraMED’s US market entry thesis targets health systems with a dedicated maternity and women’s service, while seeking to improve maternal-fetal care outcomes using connected hybrid/virtual care strategic plans.
Improved Maternity Care
HeraMED managing director Anoushka Gungadin said the Lee Health deployment focused on delivering maternity care in ways that work for patients.
“This is the moment we have been building toward—moving from a successful Phase 1 [pilot program] to full-scale commercial deployment inside a network of Lee Health’s calibre as a new model of maternity care,” she said.
“EMR integration is a key milestone, and HeraCARE will be embedded in the [patient] record that clinicians already work in, allowing us to reduce administrative load while simultaneously increasing patient outcomes.
“This deployment marks the transition to commercial execution in the world’s largest healthcare market and gives us a reference partner with whom we continue to innovate solutions for women’s health, starting with maternity.”
Once the first 200 licences are exhausted, additional activated licences and monitoring device kits will be ordered in mutually agreed increments with each subject to additional fees.
