First Graphene Roof Tile Trial Success Paves Way for Market Entry

Key points

  • Graphene roof tile trial achieves significant CO2 and cement reduction.

  • New distribution agreements expand global reach for PureGRAPH products.

  • Revenue growth continues, but net losses persist alongside a strengthened cash position.

First Graphene (ASX: FGR) has announced promising results from a world-first trial of graphene-enhanced cement roof tiles, achieving significant CO2 and cement reductions.

The trial, conducted at FP McCann’s UK facility, successfully produced over 10,000 PureGRAPH-enhanced cement roof tiles.

Crucially, the trial demonstrated a significant environmental benefit, achieving up to 14% cradle-to-gate CO2 reduction.

It also enabled an up to 8% reduction in the amount of cement required for production.

The tiles, made using CEM-II classified cement, maintained the same roof tile strength as traditional CEM-I tiles, confirming viability for commercial application.

Post-trial, First Graphene has commenced discussions with industry partners to assess interest for projects across the United Kingdom.

Market Entry Strategy

The positive trial results are positioned to enable First Graphene's entry into the global cement roof tile market, which the company anticipates will grow to US$7.6 billion.

The trial itself received support through UK government programs, specifically DESNZ ‘Contracts for Innovation’ and DEFRA ‘Resource Efficient Construction Impacts’, highlighting alignment with sustainability initiatives.

Beyond the UK, First Graphene has actively expanded its global reach by signing a three-year distribution agreement with Syron GreenThrust Dynamics to supply PureGRAPH products across India, SAARC nations, and the UAE.

This agreement includes a structured volume ramp, starting with 0.25 tonnes in year one and escalating to 20 tonnes per annum thereafter, which also triggers an option to negotiate in-country manufacturing in India.

Earlier this year, the company also expanded its North American distribution footprint by appointing SuperGrafeno as a distributor for PureGRAPH enhanced cement/concrete solutions in Canada.

Financial Performance and Outlook

In its half-yearly report to 31 December 2025, First Graphene reported a 53% increase in revenue from contracts with customers, reaching AUD 313,777.

However, the company recorded a net loss after tax of AUD 3,348,722.

Positively, the operating loss, excluding non-cash finance costs and share-based payments, decreased by 43% to AUD 1,454,384.

The cash balance improved to AUD 4.9m at 31 December 2025, following a AUD 3.5m placement completed in November 2025.

First Graphene's Promising Trial and Market Expansion

First Graphene's successful graphene-enhanced roof tile trial demonstrates significant environmental benefits and production viability, positioning the company for entry into a large global market.

Coupled with expanding international distribution for its PureGRAPH products, these developments signal a positive trajectory.

That said, continued focus on achieving profitability and converting market interest into firm orders remains critical.
