- 01101m @ 2.63 g/t Au at Lone Sister; grade upside.
- 029m @ 6.55 g/t; 4m @ 10.35 g/t.
- 03309 MRE extended; 12m @ 5.94 g/t, 16m @ 2.23 g/t; Stage 2 growth.
GBM Resources (ASX: GBM) has returned a broad 101 metres at 2.63 grams per tonne gold intersection from Stage 2 drilling at its Twin Hills project in Queensland, highlighting potential grade upside ahead of a planned resource update.
Twin Hills hosts a Mineral Resource Estimate of 23.1 million tonnes at 1.3g/t gold containing 1.0 million ounces of gold across the Lone Sister and 309 deposits.
The latest drilling has strengthened confidence in mineralisation within the existing MRE while also extending gold beyond the current resource boundary at 309.
The broader interval included higher-grade zones of 9m at 6.55g/t gold and 4m at 10.35g/t gold, with all reported intercepts representing downhole lengths and true widths not known.
Lone Sister Grade Upside
Stage 2 drilling at Lone Sister is also refining the structural and geological controls on mineralisation while testing areas affected by limited historical drilling density and different drill orientations.
“The 101m @ 2.63g/t Au intersection at Lone Sister is particularly encouraging, with a substantial portion of the interval returning grades materially above the current resource model,” chief executive officer Daniel Hastings said.
Meanwhile, drilling within the existing 309 MRE returned broad mineralised intervals including 12m at 5.94g/t gold, 10m at 4.93g/t gold and 16m at 2.23g/t gold, reinforcing continuity through areas already incorporated in the resource model.
Additional mineralisation outside the current MRE included intersections of 27m at 1.28g/t gold and 22m at 1.29g/t gold, providing further scope for resource growth beyond existing boundaries.
The work at 309 has reinforced the importance and lateral continuity of the Milled Matrix Breccia, the principal host to much of the gold mineralisation, and expanded the interpreted prospective footprint beyond the current resource.
Resource Update Imminent
The 50,000m Stage 2 program is designed to grow the existing Twin Hills MRE, improve confidence in resource continuity, and better define higher-grade zones that may contribute to future grade uplift.
“With approximately 8,400m of assays pending, we see good potential for the Stage 2 program to deliver both increased confidence and growth as we progress towards the next Twin Hills resource update,” Mr Hastings said.
The outstanding assays comprise about 6,450m from 309 and 1,950m from Lone Sister, with samples being expedited ahead of the planned MRE update.
GBM is also using the program to collect geological, metallurgical, and geotechnical information for future project studies while improving its understanding of the wider Twin Hills mineralised system.
Further work is expected to include continued diamond drilling, metallurgical test work, step-out drilling to extend both deposits at depth, and infill drilling aimed at supporting higher-confidence resource estimation.
