Enegex (ASX: ENX) has commenced the first stage of its aggressive Cote D’Ivoire exploration plans with power auger and trenching work now underway at three of the company’s permits.
Enegex has begun two separate programs of power auger work, with 1,500 metres to be drilled at Tougbe and 2,000m at Gogo.
At Tougbe, Enegex is targeting an area containing a known gold discovery, while at Gogo the company is testing a gap between the promising NE Bonoubana and S Bonoubana gold-in-soil anomalies.
At the same time, it has begun trenching at NE Bonoubana to follow up extensive high-grade gold-in-soil anomalies covering more than 26 hectares in area, with peak gold values of 4.14 grams per tonne, 3.77g/t, and 3.41g/t, and an average of 0.47g/t.
Strategic Portfolio Acquisition
Energex made a strategic decision earlier this year to acquire a large portfolio of Cote D’Ivoire projects from Famien Resources, appointing experienced West African explorer Paul Roberts to oversee their exploration.
Mr Roberts founded Predictive Discovery (ASX: PDI), and was responsible for the company’s 5.5-million-ounce Bankan gold discovery in Guinea during his tenure as managing director.
At the same time, the company successfully completed a $5 million placement to help support its plans.
Enegex has recently received ministerial approval for the granting of four additional permit applications covering Gogo West, Tougbe East, Toumodi, and Dimbokro.
The company plans to announce initial work plans for these permits once it has received the official grant documents.
Exploration Proceeding Apace
Mr Roberts said Enegex’s exploration in Cote D’Ivoire was proceeding apace.
“Following up on the excellent soil geochemistry results on the Gogo permit released last week, we are very pleased to be underway with both auger drilling and trenching on Gogo and Tougbe,” he said.
“This work will set us up for aircore and/or reverse circulation drilling on both permits in January 2026.”
The Gogo and Tougbe permits – which represent the most advanced exploration projects within the portfolio – cover a combined 1,534 square kilometres over a width of approximately 65km in northeast Côte d’Ivoire.
Enegex believes the combination of coherent high-grade soil anomalies, high-grade rock chip values, and significant historical drill intercepts positions the two permits as its near-term drill testing priority in the region.
