Eden Innovations (ASX: EDE) has confirmed its range of EdenCrete Pz7 carbon nanotube-enriched liquid additives is finding its way into an increasing number of large US-based projects across multiple sectors and states.
The primary driver of the expanding project pipeline is the company’s growing network of bulk storage and dispensing installations at ready-mix concrete (RMC) plants across the nation.
The current level of activity in Colorado—where many RMC plants have been early adopters of EdenCrete—is seen as a leading indicator of how the broader North American installation base is expected to develop over coming quarters.
Once EdenCrete Pz7 is incorporated into a plant’s concrete mix designs to improve strength and performance characteristics, Eden said it did not need to promote or market the product for each individual project.
Rather, EdenCrete Pz7 is used as a standard ingredient in every concrete pour made to those mix designs, making each bulk dispensing installation a self-sustaining source of recurring demand.
Maturing Product Adoption
“The growing number of significant US projects in which EdenCrete Pz7 is being used reflects the maturing adoption of the product across our ready-mix concrete customer base,” the company said.
“As more RMC plants complete the mix design integration phase, the use of EdenCrete Pz7 becomes structural and self-sustaining with the product applied automatically across all pours to those designs, rather than promoted on a project-by-project basis.”
Eden has also experienced a notable surge in requests from existing EdenCrete Pz7 customers for trials of its original EdenCrete product.
“These customers have experienced first-hand what carbon nanotubes can deliver in terms of concrete performance, and many are now exploring the additional durability benefits and secondary performance characteristics that original EdenCrete can bring to specific applications,” the company said.
“We regard this trend as further validation of our broader EdenCrete product range and anticipate future continued growth in the EdenCrete project pipeline.”
Enhanced Performance
Eden’s proprietary EdenCrete products have been designed to enhance the strength, abrasion resistance, permeability, and elasticity of ordinary concrete, producing a stronger, tougher, and more durable product with a longer service life and lower carbon footprint.
EdenCrete Pz and EdenCrete Pz7 are most frequently used in concrete mixes with a higher percentage of pozzolans as an alternative to cementitious material such as fly-ash and blast furnace slag which are waste products from coal-fired power stations and metal smelting respectively.
Since 2015, EdenCrete has been used in US applications including low, medium and high-rise building construction, as well as new roads and bridges.
It has also featured in various public infrastructure projects such as airports, bus stations, carparks, stadiums, and waste transfer stations.
