Eden Innovations Reports Ongoing Market Growth of EdenCrete Low-Carbon Concrete Additives

Key points

  • Americas growth; Amrize: Pz7 tanks at 5 CO plants.

  • Quikrete adds 2 CO plants; more planned.

  • Holcim rollouts US/Ecuador; trials in CAN, MEX, UK, FR.

Eden Innovations (ASX: EDE) has reported ongoing market growth in the Americas region for its range of EdenCrete concrete additive products.

North American building materials company Amrize (formerly Holcim US and Holcim Canada) has requested the company supply bulk EdenCrete Pz7 storage tanks and dispensing systems to support regular sales of EdenCrete Pz7-enriched mixes at five of its ready mix concrete plants in Colorado.

The contract will boost the total number of Amrize plants using EdenCrete to 10 out of a total 300 plants across the region, leaving Eden with significant scope for further growth in that market.

Since 2024, Eden US has been supplying EdenCrete Pz7 to enrich standard low-carbon concrete mixes at nine Holcim plants in Ecuador for a total contract value to date of US$697,830.

The most recent order in December totalled US$341,850, representing 49% of total Holcim Ecuador purchases over the past two years.

Quikrete Plant Orders

The company also recently installed EdenCrete Pz7 bulk storage tanks and dispensing equipment at two Quikrete ready mix concrete plants in Colorado, and is preparing for two similar installations at other plants within the Quikrete group.

Eden US expects to see a significant rise in total EdenCretePz7 sales in the Americas market over the next 24 months as customer numbers grow to more than 20 plants.

Holcim has recently started rolling out the installation of EdenCrete Pz7 dispensing systems at plants owned by its subsidiaries in US and Ecuador, while continuing with extended trials of EdenCrete Pz and EdenCrete Pz7 in Canada, Mexico, the UK, and France.

Several major Indonesian concrete companies have also indicated an interest in importing EdenCrete Pz and EdenCrete Pz7 to produce low-cost, low-carbon concrete using fly-ash from the country’s coal-fired power industry.

Enhanced Concrete Performance

EdenCrete is a proprietary carbon nanotube-strengthened concrete additive that enhances a range of performance characteristics to deliver stronger, tougher, more durable and longer-lasting concrete.

These include compressive, flexural, and tensile strength; abrasion resistance; permeability; and elasticity and shrinkage.

The product range — comprising EdenCrete, EdenCrete Pz and EdenCrete Pz7 — is used to improve concretes in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, ports, and airports that are subject to heavy wear and extreme weather conditions.

They are also frequently used in concrete mixes to enable higher proportions of pozzolans (silica-based cementitious materials) as an alternative to ordinary Portland cement (OPC).

Pozzolans include fly-ash and blast furnace slag—cheap waste products from coal-fired power stations and metal smelting and have a zero greenhouse gas footprint, which are gaining market traction in multiple regions as low-carbon replacements for standard OPC mixes.
