ClearVue Technologies (ASX: CPV) has secured a significant order from Concept Business Group (CBG) to reclad two 10-storey towers in South Africa with its solar-integrated façade products.
The agreement will see the buildings refitted with Solar Vision Glass, Solar Skylight and Solar Cladding in a project expected to exceed A$1 million in value.
ClearVue projects the installation will generate more than 40% of each tower’s energy requirements, demonstrating a strong commercial case for large-scale retrofits.
South African Retrofit Program
The project aims to deliver a complete façade upgrade that improves thermal performance while generating on-site renewable power through ClearVue’s building-integrated photovoltaic products.
ClearVue said the expected payback period of under five years highlights the technology’s ability to provide immediate economic and environmental benefits.
CBG – one of ClearVue’s long-standing licensed partners – has previously incorporated the company’s solar façade products into multiple commercial-scale projects, and will oversee the full design, engineering, and installation of the new work, with support from ClearVue’s technical team.
ClearVue chief executive officer Douglas Hunt said the order serves as strong validation of the company’s partner-led growth strategy and its technology’s retrofit value proposition.
“This project proves that, by replacing passive building materials with our active, energy-generating glass, building owners can significantly offset their carbon footprint while generating a return on investment,” he said.
‘Undeniable’ Business Case
CBG managing director Craig Boyd said the new installations will allow the buildings to generate their own energy, modernise their architectural appearance, and improve performance across multiple sustainability metrics.
“With a payback period of less than five years, the business case is undeniable—these projects stand as a perfect example of how CBG, in conjunction with ClearVue’s technology, delivers both environmental impact and economic value,” he added.
The retrofit program is currently in early design definition, with detailed construction specifications to be finalised ahead of deployment, and installation targeted for the second quarter of 2026.
ClearVue sees the South African program as reinforcing its broader strategy to demonstrate how solar façades can support energy independence and decarbonisation in both new developments and existing buildings.
