AML3D (ASX: AL3) has secured a AU$2.61 million order for US Navy submarine components from BlueForge Alliance, further validating its ARCEMY 3D printing technology following successful hydrostatic testing.
The order is for five non-safety-critical replacement components destined for in-service US Navy submarines.
BlueForge Alliance is a US nonprofit organisation dedicated to strengthening the Navy's industrial base.
The components will be manufactured using AML3D's proprietary ARCEMY 3D metal printing technology, specifically utilising Nickel-Aluminum-Bronze (NAB) alloy.
The work for this order is expected to run for approximately 10 months, commencing in Q4 of the current financial year, with upfront payments and further payments upon milestone completion.
Technology Validation and Testing
This significant order follows successful US Navy hydrostatic testing of prior ARCEMY 3D-printed components confirming that ARCEMY technology is qualified and accepted for US Navy sustainment applications.
The adoption of ARCEMY 3D printing highlights AML3D's capability to address existing US Navy supply chain constraints by offering reduced lead times compared to traditional manufacturing methods.
The new contract reinforces AML3D's growing presence within the US defence sector.
It builds on previous wins, including an AU$9.9 million** order from **Newport News Shipbuilding for ARCEMY X systems.
These strategic wins support the company's broader objective to expand its US manufacturing footprint and capacity, cementing its role in the US defense industrial base.
Financial and Operational Context
AML3D's strategic focus on US expansion has seen strong momentum, with previous quarterly reports indicating robust cash receipts and significant US scale-up orders for FY26.
Ongoing investment in US and European expansion continues, supported by the company's robust cash balance.
The new US Navy order is expected to contribute positively to near-term revenue visibility and production workload.
“AML3D’s advanced industrial 3D metal printing technology is increasingly being embedded in the US Navy’s Maritime Industrial Base," chief executive officer Sean Ebert said.
"Our US Scale-up strategy continues to deliver significant growth and value to AML3D and its shareholders—while the latter strategy is being successfully delivered, we at the same time continue to progress our plans to enter into the UK market and other globally significant markets across Europe.”
