Alice Queen (ASX: AQX) has unearthed further copper and gold mineralisation at the Boda East target within the New South Wales-based Yarindury project.

The company has received assays from drilling which identified mineralisation extends along the northerly trend.

Better intercepts were 7m at 0.03 grams per tonne gold and 0.28% copper from 561m, including 1m at 0.14g/t gold and 1.03% copper from 566m; 5m at 0.01g/t gold and 0.19% copper from 185m; and 3m at 0.01g/t gold and 0.11% copper from 696m.

Alice noted some elevated copper in hole 10 indicates the northern zone remains open, with large areas to the east and at depth also remaining untested.

“All results have now been returned from Boda East drilling, with the better results clearly demonstrating they are associated with the magnetic intrusive complex where we have targeted the bulk of our drilling,” Alice managing director Andrew Buxton explained.

“We are continuing our work program to better-understand the nature and further potential of this area,” he added.

Lachlan Fold Belt

Alice’s Yarindury project is part of the company’s asset suite in the NSW Lachlan Fold Belt.

The company describes the Lachlan Fold Belt as a tier one address that is home to large-scale porphyry copper and gold deposits.

To-date, Alice has completed 10,000m of diamond drilling across the NSW project areas.

The company noted co-discoverer of Newcrest Mining’s (ASX: NCM) Cadia Valley and former Newcrest chief geoscientist John Holliday had generated Alice’s drill targets for the region.

Alice’s three project areas in the belt cover 700 square kilometres and are along strike of Cadia Valley.

They are also located on the Molong Volcanic Belt, which is the same structure that hosts Newcrest’s Cadia Ridgeway assets which has an endowment of 42Moz gold and 8.7Mt copper.

Alice pointed out Boda East was also adjacent to Alkane Resources’ (ASX: ALK) Boda discovery.
