Healthcare technology specialist Alcidion Group (ASX: ALC) has been named as the preferred electronic patient record (EPR) supplier by the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSx) in the UK.
The total contract value is forecast to be potentially in excess of $35 million over a minimum seven-year period with operations commencing in Q4 FY26.
Alcidion, a major supplier of EPR systems in UK and Australian healthcare, will deploy its Miya Precision platform, including the Miya observations and assessments system Patientrack.
UHSx is currently using the Patientrack solution and Alcidion group managing director, Kate Quirke, said being named as preferred supplier builds on a long-standing relationship.
Improves patient care
“UHSx’s purpose for the EPR procurement is to implement a single, integrated digital platform that improves patient care, supports regional integration, drives operational efficiency, and delivers long-term social and research benefits.”
“Miya Precision is ideally placed to deliver on this vision working alongside the implementation teams and clinical staff at UHSx to ensure there is long term benefit to the people of this region.”
Located in the south of the UK, UHSx is one of the largest hospital-based organisations in the region, providing short-term, essential medical care for serious illnesses under the UK NHS acute trust.
Millions of outpatients
It manages seven hospitals hosting more than 1.5 million outpatient appointments, A&E visits and surgery cases annually, employing nearly 20,000 staff.
Alcidon and UHSx will now finalise a formal contract prior to commencing deployment of Miya Precision later this year.
Since listing on the ASX in 2016, Alcidion has expanded its presence in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. It now services more than 400 hospitals and 87 healthcare organisations while looking to further its geographical reach.
