Aerometrex (ASX: AMX) has been awarded a $1.5 million contract by the NSW Government to deliver aerial imagery and spatial data services through its MetroMap platform.

The contract appoints MetroMap as aerial imagery provider to the NSW Government Digital Information Office.

The initial term runs for three years and includes two optional one-year extension periods at the NSW Government’s election.

The services will support multiple NSW agencies and further validate MetroMap’s role as a spatial data platform for government users.

Formal Selection Process

The NSW Government awarded the contract after a formal procurement process conducted on behalf of agencies.

Along with the various services across a number of agencies, the platform will also provide application programming interface (API) integration with enterprise geographic information system platforms.

Contract terms include defined recapture and imagery update cycles, with at least annual refresh coverage for metropolitan and key regional areas, while government users will also receive access to MetroMap’s historical imagery archive.

The contract adds to Aerometrex’s growing government-sector footprint and demonstrates MetroMap’s ability to meet technical and operational requirements across larger agencies.

Annual Contract Value Growth

MetroMap provides high-resolution aerial imagery and spatial data that can support environmental monitoring, land management, regulatory oversight, and other government functions.

The platform sits within Aerometrex’s broader geospatial technology offering, which also includes Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) and three-dimensional visualisation models.

Aerometrex’s records show MetroMap annual contract value increasing from $7.777m in June 2023 to $12.294m in December 2025, to an estimated $14.190m in June 2026 that includes a $500,000 contribution from the NSW Government contract.

That progression points to continued subscription and contract growth for the aerial imagery platform.

Government Endorsement

Managing director and chief executive officer Rob Veitch said the contract further demonstrates the company’s standing as a key supplier to Australian Government agencies.

"Winning this contract […] is a strong endorsement of MetroMap's capabilities and the trust placed in us to deliver accurate, reliable spatial data at the scale government demands.”

“Aerial imagery and spatial data is increasingly recognised as essential technology for government agencies, providing insights and supporting environmental monitoring, land management, and regulatory functions at scale.”

“We look forward to delivering that for NSW.”
