Alto Metals (ASX: AME) has unveiled more “outstanding” near-surface and high-grade gold intercepts from ongoing drilling at the Indomitable Camp, which is part of the wider Sandstone gold project in Western Australia.

Alto managing director Matthew Bowles said the latest assays were not only “outstanding”, but also extended mineralisation further north outside of the current resource.

“Our systematic approach is continuing to deliver and the ongoing near-surface results from Indomitable highlight a very large shallow oxide footprint, which is often the key to finding much larger high-grade gold deposits at depth.”

Drilling at the Indomitable North deposit has hit mineralisation outside of the current resource. Highlight assays were 44m at 2 grams per tonne gold from 58m, including 14m at 3.2g/t gold from 84m; 7m at 2.1g/t gold from 9m; and 9m at 1.9g/t gold from 92m, including 1m at 5.3g/t gold from 97m.

Meanwhile, step-out drilling from Indomitable North uncovered mineralisation up to 500m north of the deposit.

Mineralisation there also remains open.

Better results from drilling at this target were 13m at 4.6g/t gold from 24m, including 1m at 31.8g/t gold from 27m; 15m at 4.2g/t gold from 30m, including 1m at 38g/t gold from 35m; and 10m at 1g/t gold from 2m.

Advancing Sandstone gold project

Assays remain pending from more than 5,000m of reverse circulation drilling completed at Indomitable North and Indomitable East.

As part of a larger 60,000m campaign, drilling is continuing across the project, which Alto says has a “very large and underexplored” mineral system.

Indomitable Camp has been defined over 2km if strike and lies within a 20km-plus gold corridor, which also includes the Vanguard and Havilah deposits.

Resources for Indomitable Camp currently stand at 1.7Mt at 1.3g/t gold for 74,000oz.

Across the wider Sandstone project, resources total 12.4Mt at 1.6g/t gold for 635,000oz.

Mr Bowles said the company looked forward to updating shareholders on results in the coming weeks as drilling continues.

Upcoming drilling will include follow-up work at Lord Nelson and Juno, along with step-out and extensional drilling at Vanguard and regional targets including Oroya, Sandstone North, and Bulchina Trend.
