Alto Metals (ASX: AME) has uncovered more shallow oxide gold mineralisation from ongoing drilling at the Indomitable East prospect, within the wide Sandstone gold project in Western Australia’s East Murchison region.

Reverse circulation drilling at the prospect has continued to highlight its growth potential, with numerous gold intervals encountered.

The new results are from 1m photon assays that arise from 27 reverse circulation holes that were completed at Indomitable East for 3,600m.

Drilling had an average down hole depth of 133m, and was designed to test extensions to mineralisation identified from historical work completed by Western Mining Corporation and Troy Resources.

Notable intercepts were 11m at 1 gram per tonne gold from 63m, including 4m at 2.1g/t gold from 70m; 13m at 5.4g/t gold from 80m, including 3m at 16.7g/t gold from 81m; and 21m at 1.4g/t gold form 33m, including 2m at 5g/t gold.

Drilling has now defined Indomitable East mineralisation over 800m of strike and it remains open to the northwest, southeast and at depth.

“We are pleased to announce further excellent results from our ongoing program at Indomitable East, where we continue to define additional shallow oxide gold mineralisation outside of the current resource,” Alto managing director Matthew Bowles said.

“These results continue to highlight the camp scale growth potential we see at Indomitable, which sits within a much larger 20km corridor,” he added.

Sandstone gold project

Indomitable East forms part of Sandstone’s Indomitable Camp, which is described as a large underexplored mineral system.

The Indomitable Camp system has been delineated over 2km of strike within the 20km-long corridor.

Reverse circulation drilling is underway at Indomitable and Indomitable North targets, while regional targeting work is being completed across Sandstone including the historical Hacks and Oroya mines.

Assays are pending from 4,000m of reverse circulation drilling that was undertaken at the Musketeer prospect.

Sandstone has indicated and inferred resources of 12.4Mt at 1.6g/t gold for 635,000 ounces of contained metal.
