Alto Metals (ASX: AME) has received more positive results from drilling at its Sandstone gold project in Western Australia’s Murchison, with numerous high-grade gold intercepts revealed in the latest assay batch.

Latest assays from the Vanguard Camp target area have returned many intercepts exceeding grades of 10 grams per tonne gold, with Alto noting several were outside the current resource.

Notable results were 30m at 3g/t gold from 87m, including 1m at 18.3g/t gold from 107.2m; 7m at 4.5g/t gold from 56m, including 2.3m at 12.4g/t gold from 60m; and 5m at 6.5g/t gold from 67m, including 1m at 27.3g/t gold from 101.6m.

Additionally, Alto has revealed 1m assay results from previously reported 4m composites that were from extensional and step-out reverse circulation drilling at Vanguard Camp.

The 1m assays have confirmed the previous composite results with highlights of 11m at 15.3g/t gold from 40m, including 1m at 147.2g/t gold from 42m; and 3m at 8.6g/t gold from 125m, including 1m at 23.7g/t gold.

Vanguard Camp comprises Vanguard and Vanguard North, which are two parallel mineralised trends that have been delineated over 2km and remain open along strike and down dip.

“A key takeaway from today’s announcement is that our systematic approach to exploration is continuing to deliver strong results for shareholders,” Alto managing director Matthew Bowles said.

He added the 1m at 147.2g/t gold interval highlights the “exceptional grade” that can be found within the quartz-rich laminated shear veins at Vanguard.

Advancing Sandstone gold project

Alto has assays pending from more than 80 RC holes drilled across Vanguard, Lord Henry and Indomitable targets, with results due “in the coming weeks”.

“The Lords Corridor, Vanguard and Indomitable firmly remain our priority focus as we look to grow resources,” Mr Bowles said.

“However, in time, we are very much looking forward to applying the same methodological approach to unlock the value from the numerous other regional targets within our 900 square kilometres of the Sandstone gold project,” he added.

Sandstone’s indicated and inferred resources currently total 6.2Mt at 1.7g/t gold for 331,000 ounces.

Making up global resource estimate are the Lord Henry, Lord Nelson, Indomitable, Vanguard Camp, Havilah and Ladybird deposits.
