Aldoro Resources (ASX: ARN) has unearthed what it says is one of its best magmatic sulphide intersections to-date at the VC1 nickel-copper platinum group element (PGE) target within its Narndee Igneous Complex project in Western Australia.

The hole uncovered 6.7m of strong magmatic sulphide mineralisation, including 3.75m of massive sulphides in five separate intervals.

Another hole was completed at the target and hit several intervals of disseminated sulphides.

Aldoro noted the massive sulphide mineralisation at VC1 appeared to be thickening along its western margin.

VC1 drill program

A second reverse circulation rig has been mobilised to VC1 where mineralisation remains open to the east, west and north.

This new rig will focus on the southern portion of VC1 with the aim of generating enough information to develop a JORC resource for the target.

The RC drilling program at VC1 is expected to take two-to-three weeks to complete, while a diamond rig has four holes to undertake at the target before moving to a nickel sulphide anomaly at VC11.

A hole is also planned to be carried out between VC3 and VC11.

While this is occurring, a high-power fixed loop electromagnetic survey is underway across VC1, VC3 and VC11 in an attempt to identify deeper or very conductive targets.

Niobe lithium-rubidium project

Once the RC rig has finished at VC1, it will be mobilised to Aldoro’s Niobe project near Mount Magnet in Western Australia’s Murchison province to undertake lithium and rubidium resource drilling.

At Niobe, Aldoro has firmed up an exploration target for the main pegmatite of 33,000-150,000 tonnes grading up to 1,457 parts per million rubidium oxide.

The target represents less the half the pegmatite and is based on drilling from the mid-1980s.

At total of 46 rock chips were collected from Pegmatite 2, Pegmatite Southeast Pit and Breakaway prospects at the project and will be analysed for lithium, rubidium, caesium, niobium, tantalum and tin.
