Aldoro Resources gears up for large sampling program at Wyemandoo lithium-rubidium project
Aldoro Resources will collect up to 600 rock chips with a focus on the Loop Pegmatite target within the 10km Fairway Corridor.
Aldoro Resources (ASX: ARN) has discovered more than a 1,000 dyke-like features across the Fairway Corridor within its Wyemandoo lithium and rubidium project, with planning underway for a large sampling program.
Detailed satellite and drone imagery has led to the identification of the 1,000 dyke-like features within the Fairway Corridor.
These have been subdivided by geomorphic domes that appear across the area.
Aldoro has now prioritised the domes by known lepidolite pegmatites and distance from parental magmas.
Loop Pegmatite target
As a result, Aldoro’s sampling program will focus on the Loop Pegmatite structure and surrounding areas.
Previous rock chip samples from the Loop Pegmatite yielded an average 1.06% lithium and 0.94% rubidium, with peak grades of 2.6% lithium and 1.7% rubidium.
The aim of the program is to investigate the nature of mineralisation and morphology of the host pegmatites.
Rock chip sampling will start at the higher rated domes with lepidolite-bearing pegmatites.
A pXRF gun will be used to help discriminate the higher rubidium samples, which the company expects will also contain higher lithium values.
Aldoro noted the pXRF does not measure lithium levels, which is why the rubidium readings are critical.
The rock chip program will collect up to 600 samples.
Fairway Corridor
Aldoro has defined the Fairway Corridor within Wyemandoo over more than 10km in length and up to 6km wide.
Additionally, lepidolite-bearing rock samples have been confirmed over 9km of strike and 3km in width.
Aldoro says the pegmatite footprint at Wyemandoo is “significant” compared to other major lithium-bearing pegmatite fields including Talison Lithium’s Greenbushes (7km by 1km), Pilbara Minerals’ (ASX: PLS) Pilgangoora (7km by 1km), Mineral Resources’ (ASX: MIN) Mt Marion (6km), Orocobre’s Cattlin Creek (1km by 1.5km), and Liontown Resources’ (ASX: LTR) Kathleen Valley (1.5km by 1km).
Wyemandoo is 80km south of Mount Magnet in Western Australia and covers 259.78sq km of ground.
