Aldoro Resources Massive Sulphides VC1 target Narndee Igneous Complex drilling ASX ARN

Aldoro Resources has reported more encouraging drill results at its VC1 target in WA.

Copied

Two new holes drilled at the VC1 target within Aldoro Resources’ (ASX: ARN) flagship Narndee Igneous Complex nickel-copper-platinum group elements (PGE) project in Western Australia have intersected more zones of massive sulphide mineralisation.

Portable x-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyses have confirmed nickel and copper are also present.

The holes – listed as third and fourth in Aldoro’s drilling schedule – are reported to have hit massive, semi-massive, blebby and veined nickel-copper sulphides.

The results follows reports of new zones earlier this month from a second drill hole which were believed to be “significantly thicker and stronger” than those encountered in the campaign’s first hole.

The third hole intersected approximately 1.9 metres of massive sulphide; while the fourth intersected 0.9m of massive sulphide as well as several broad zones of disseminated and blebby sulphides totalling 124.9m.

Sulphide assemblage

Aldoro said the sulphide assemblage in both holes in order of abundance appears to be pyrrhotite, pyrite, pentlandite and chalcopyrite, with possible violarite and marcasite in the third hole.

Petrographic and geochemical analyses will be required to confirm the assemblage’s species, geological setting and relative abundance.

The sulphide mineralisation across the third and fourth holes is believed to remain open in all directions outside the current 240m of drill-tested plunge extent.

Narndee footwall sequence

Drilling continues to intersect significant zones of quartz veining, disseminated sulphides and bleaching in the footwall sequence of the Narndee Igneous Complex which consists of metabasalt and interflow sediments.

Aldoro said the zones will be routinely sampled and assayed for potential gold mineralisation.

In conjunction with new downhole electromagnetic datasets, the “very encouraging success rate” is expected to provide powerful targeting tools for future drilling at VC1.

Follow-up exploration

Follow-up drilling will be predominantly guided by downhole electromagnetic (DHTEM) surveying.

The DHTEM survey crew is currently on-site to survey VC1 holes already completed by Aldoro and to aid and refine drill targeting.

While surveying and modelling are being completed at VC1, the drill rig will move onto the VC3 target where it will drill a single hole.
