Alcidion chosen as preferred supplier for North Cumbria’s new AI-Driven patient record system
Alcidion Group (ASX: ALC) has been selected as the preferred supplier for a new electronic patient record (EPR) system being implemented by North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) in the UK.
The system will provide clinicians with real-time access to patient records while streamlining patient flow and improving clinical decision-making processes.
Final negotiations between Alcidion and NCIC are underway and expected to result in a 10-year contract worth as much as $40 million over the full term utilising Alcidion’s Miya Precision product suite and partner applications.
AI-powered platform
Miya Precision is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered platform designed to provide clinicians with actionable insights by consolidating information from disparate systems.
It has been marketed as an “intuitive interface” that can highlight critical issues and their required actions and provide greater insights to improve patient care.
The platform encompasses a full suite offering including the Silverlink Patient Care System solution, which is already live at NCIC.
Existing relationship
Alcidion managing director Kate Quirke said the company was keen to build on its existing relationship with NCIC.
“We have supplied NCIC with a patient administration system for over eight years and we are now able to offer Miya Precision capabilities alongside our partner applications to deliver full electronic patient records accessible across the organisation,” she said.
“Our integrated, modular EPR suite will allow NCIC to develop its existing digital footprint, protecting its existing investments and allowing it to realise the benefits of additional clinical capabilities through integration with a number of existing systems.”.
“At a time when the healthcare system is under enormous pressure, we see this increased speed to deliver value as a real opportunity for our customers.”
Integrated care system
The NCIC forms part of the North East and North Cumbria integrated care system, which provides hospital and community healthcare for approximately half a million Britons across two acute care hospitals, eight community-based hospitals and eight integrated care communities.
It also hosts a number of support staff locations over a large geographical footprint in the UK that work collaboratively with primary care networks, including 39 general practices and after-hours GP services.
