Alcidion Group expands UK presence with 10-year North Cumbria NHS Trust deal

Healthcare technology developer Alcidion Group (ASX: ALC) has signed a 10-year contract with UK body North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) estimated to be worth a total of $37.5 million.
The NCIC agreement is for the use of Alcidion’s Miya Precision platform to create and maintain an Electronic Patient Record (EPR).
Supported by more than 6,500 employees, NCIC provides hospital and community health services to around half a million people and is responsible for delivering around 70 acute and community services across 15 main locations.
Key benefits
Alcidion chief executive officer Kate Quirke said the NCIC EPR evaluation team had recognised that the Miya Precision platform would add key benefits, digitising their clinicians’ workflows and improving care outcomes for patients.
“Securing this long-term contract with North Cumbria Integrated Care […] demonstrates the value a modern, modular EPR platform can bring to healthcare systems,” Ms Quirke said.
“For Alcidion, this contract represents a key milestone in our efforts to support major healthcare providers with market-leading digital health solutions.”
“The emergence of smarter, more focused EPR infrastructure is being widely accepted as an essential part of clinical workflow and patient care globally and we remain committed to continuous improvement and world-class innovation in this space.”
Streamlined patient flow
NCIC will utilise the full Miya Precision EPR to enable mobile working, streamline patient flow, support clinical decision-making processes and provide clinicians with real-time access to a unified patient record.
The new agreement, which NCIC has the option to extend, builds on Alcidion’s footprint in the North East North Cumbria region.
Northumbria Healthcare currently uses the company’s Patient Administration System (PAS) module, while the South Tees facility is another using the Miya Precision platform.
Care delivery support
Miya Precision supports care delivery across emergency, inpatient and outpatient services, complementing clinical workflows with real-time patient flow management capability and extensive clinical documentation functionality, designed to support all clinical roles in documenting patient care.
Ms Quirke said Alcidion would extend the use of the cloud-hosted, web-based solution through the provision of a smartphone-based mobile app providing care teams with access to the full patient record at all times.
Alcidion will recognise between $8m and $9m of the new contract in FY25, dependent upon progress against project implementation milestones.
