Advance Metals (ASX:AVM) has brought in more than 70 years of industry experience with the creation of a specialist advisory board to help drive its Mexican high-grade silver project strategy.

The initial two appointees to the board will provide Advance with significant Mexican and Latin American expertise, along with their long respective backgrounds in mining.

The company has also announced the resignation of non-executive director Fadi Diab, who has served on the board since Advance’s restructure and played an instrumental role in its successful transformation in recent times.

Mexican Mining Specialist

Douglas Coleman has more than 35 years of mining experience in Mexico, with a background in investment sourcing, strategic partnerships, and project execution.

He is the founder of the Mexico Mining Centre, co-founder of the Discoveries Mining Conference, and previously held senior roles with Appian Capital Advisory, Layne, and Globexplore.

Mr Coleman holds a BSc in geological engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, is a fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists, and a member of the American Institute of Professional Geologists.

Global Exploration Expert

Mr Coleman will be joined by Trevor Woolfe, who also has more than 35 years of experience in global exploration and corporate development.

He is a director and the former vice-president of exploration and corporate development at GR Silver Mining, the founder of independent consultancy firm Shordean, and has project evaluation experience in Latin America, Africa, and Australasia.

Mr Woolfe is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a member of both the Australasian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy and Australian Institute of Geoscientists.

Three-Pronged Mexican Strategy

Managing director Dr Adam McKinnon said the advisory board would provide important support to help progress Advance’s three significant Mexican high-grade silver-gold projects, which collectively host approximately 100 million ounces of silver-equivalent.

“Douglas and Trevor bring an exceptional depth of experience and relationships in Mexico’s mining industry—their combined expertise in exploration, development, and on-the-ground execution will be invaluable as we move quickly to expand our silver endowment,” he said.

“High-impact drilling will recommence at Yoquivo in the near term, followed by our maiden drilling programs at both Guadalupe y Calvo and Gavilanes in early 2026—the start of what we expect to be a major period of discovery-led growth for Advance.”

Advance is looking to double the resource across the three projects over the medium term.
