Digital media and technology company 1st Group (ASX: 1ST) has pleased its shareholders with the news that it has entered into a new agreement to deploy its digital online booking platform into 120 PETstock grooming sites across Australia.
The agreement enables customers to book grooming appointments for their pets online and thereby opens up an additional source of revenue for the emerging digital health company.
The move signals the expansion of PetYeti across Australia with over 500 sites now signed up to the PetYeti platform.
1st Group is currently developing a range of digital channels including Australia’s leading health services portal MyHealth1st.com.au, Australia’s online pet service portal PetYeti.com.au and corporate and government solutions platform GoBookings.com.
Together, these integrated platforms provide an easy to use online search and appointment booking service offering a range of value-added apps and services that facilitate digital patient and customer engagement.
Online health services bookings are estimated to be worth around A$1.9 billion alone with 1st Group reporting that it is currently undergoing “significant quarter-on-quarter revenue growth” within the sector.
Over to pets
The new agreement announced today will have a duration of one year, with PETstock committing to minimum monthly subscription fees, installation and implementation costs.
1st Group said it expects the sites to go live in the third quarter of this year, with sales revenues likely to be generated immediately, dependent on the rate of adoption of the new service.
“PETstock is excited to introduce online booking functionality provided by PetYeti for our grooming locations across Australia. Online booking will allow our customers convenient access to our groomers. In the coming months, we will also be rolling out online booking to our veterinary practices,” said John Reus, general manager of PETstock.
1st Group’s managing director, Klaus Bartosch said, “They (PETstock) are a fast growing and widely respected pet retailer group built on a passion for pets and a deep commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. PETstock are 100% Australian, family owned and operated. We also look forward to expanding our partnership with them across their veterinary sites over time as well.”
“Grooming services are often included as part of a veterinary practice’s operations, so this is a natural extension of PetYeti,” he added.
Shares in 1st Group were up 2.56% to A$0.04 by midday.
