Three holes of Recharge Metals’ ongoing drilling campaign were terminated in visual copper mineralisation.

Junior explorer Recharge Metals (ASX: REC) has revealed encouraging copper results from assays of the first four holes drilled at the Brandy Hill South project in Western Australia’s Murchison province.

The recently-listed company kicked off its maiden drilling program in November and shortly after announced that these four holes had all intersected thick copper sulphides.

Drilling resumed in December with a larger capacity drill rig and a total of 20 holes for 3,374m was completed in January. The holes were designed to confirm and extend the results returned by a historical drill hole, as well as test the strike extents of mineralisation to the north and south.

Assays have now been received for the first four holes with results comprising: 12m at 1.2% copper from 74m, including 4m at 2.87% copper; 1m at 5.92% copper from 147m; 32m at 0.49% copper from 65m; and 16m at 0.41% copper from 78m including 1m at 1.46% copper.

Recharge managing director Brett Wallace described uncovering multiple zones of copper mineralisation in all four holes as a “great result”.

Assays also confirm visual inspections of drill core during geological logging.

“It is important to note that these results are just from the start of the program, with the assay results from the additional 16 holes completed in December 2021 and January 2022 yet to be received,” Mr Wallace said.

“Strike potential in both directions and at depth remain open,” he added.

Diamond drilling to start this month

Three holes have been selected to be extended with diamond tails, which are designed to increase the geological and structural understanding of the mineralisation intersected and further test the depth extensions of the mineralisation.

Recharge has engaged Drillcore Pty Ltd to complete this diamond drilling program, scheduled to begin in mid-February.

Downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveying will be completed on another three holes to assist with planning further drilling and targeting of any additional DHEM conductors identified.
