Recharge Metals ASX REC copper sulphides maiden drilling Brandy Hill South project

Three holes of Recharge Metals’ ongoing drilling campaign were terminated in visual copper mineralisation.

Recharge Metals (ASX: REC) has resumed drilling at its Brandy Hill South project in Western Australia’s Murchison Province after the initial four holes unearthed visible copper sulphides last month.

Early last month, Recharge kicked off its maiden drilling program at Brandy Hill South, with four holes completed for 610m.

All four holes intersected thick copper sulphide zones, with three of the holes ending in visible copper mineralisation.

Assays from these holes are anticipated in January.

Recharge managing director Brett Wallace said the visible results within the first four holes are “extremely encouraging”.

Exploring Brandy Hill South

Following early positive results, Mr Wallace said the company is “very excited” to be back on the ground and drilling again at Brandy Hill South.

He explained the abundance of minerals observed during geological logging of the drill core indicated thick zones of copper were hit, with the mineralisation occurring within ultramafic dolerites with quartz veining.

To gather better data, Recharge has procured a larger reverse circulation rig to complete about 15 holes for 3,000m.

“The resumption of drilling will allow Recharge to target the continuity of mineralisation, depth extensions of the mineralisation and extensions along strike at the Brandy Hill South project,” Mr Wallace said.

Newly listed

Recharge is a newcomer to the ASX after listing in October. It raised $5 million in its initial public offering (IPO) via the issue of 25 million shares at $0.20 each.

Brandy Hill South is the flagship project and lies directly south of Silver Lake Resources’ (ASX: SLR) Deflector project which has been producing gold since 2016.

In addition to being prospective for copper, gold has been uncovered at Brandy Hill South. It was first discovered in 1894.

Last month, Recharge applied for additional ground near the project. The new exploration licence is also believed prospective for copper and gold.

Recharge’s other projects comprise Hyden (nickel, copper, gold, cobalt) and Bohemia (zinc, silver and lead).

Both of these projects are also located in WA.
