E79 Gold Mines (ASX: E79) has received results from the first 40 aircore holes drilled at its 80% owned Pinjin joint venture (JV) ground, with assays revealing the gold anomaly now extends over 1,600m.

The aircore program was completed between November 2021 and February this year, with 281 holes drilled for 15,103m across three target areas of the wider Laverton South gold project, which comprises the Pinjin JV.

E79 has now received assays from the first 40 holes that were drilled in November at target three within the Pinjin JV tenements, with best results of 4m at 0.38 grams per tonne gold from 32m, 4m at 0.2g/t gold from 56m, and 4m at 0.12g/t gold from 68m.

These results have extended the gold anomaly at Pinjin JV by more than 900m to exceed 1,600m.

E79 chief executive officer Ned Summerhayes said the company was pleased to see assays begin to flow in from the aircore program at Laverton South.

“These results account for less than 50% of the drilling completed over and we look forward to seeing the return of results from the remainder of the program.”

The company is awaiting assays from 240 holes.

Laverton South

Laverton South covers 346 square kilometres of ground across the southern portion of the Laverton Tectonic Zone about 130km east-northeast of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

The project comprises E79’s 100%-owned Lake Yindana tenement package, and the Pinjin JV tenements, where St Barbara (ASX: SBM) holds a 20% stake.

According to E79, the Laverton Tectonic Zone is one of the world’s richest gold belts, with more than 30 million ounces of historical production, reserves and resources.

Murchison gold project

Mr Summerhayes said over at the company’s Murchison project, in WA’s North Murchison, exploration was gaining momentum with soil sampling underway across both historical and new targets identified by the recent gravity survey.

The Murchison gold project covers 336sq km and contains about 30km of strike.
