E2 Metals unearthed a 2m interval grading 630g/t silver and 0.5g/t gold at Emilia.

Copied

E2 Metals (ASX: E2M) has discovered a silver zone at the Emilia prospect within its Conserrat project in Argentina’s Santa Cruz province.

Emilia was initially identified as a drill target after rock chip sampling uncovered 16.4 grams per tonne gold and 981g/t silver.

The new silver zone was discovered during a five hole for 697m scout drilling program at the prospect, which is 5km north of the Mia prospect.

Assays revealed 9.5m at 375g/t silver and 0.4g/t gold from 49m, including 2m at 630g/t silver and 0.5g/t gold from 49m.

E2 Metals managing director Todd Williams said the results from Emilia were “significant” because they pointed to another discovery for Conserrat and highlight the potential for more high-grade silver mineralisation along the Veta Blanca-Emilia vein that extends over 2.5km of strike.

He added the vein had been “poorly tested” by drilling to-date.

“Importantly, mineralisation is hosted within a blind structure that is adjacent to the main topographic ridge under shallow cover, confirming what we already suspected – the best mineralised veins at Conserrat may not be the most obvious ones.”

Emilia to become a new focus

Mineralisation at Emilia remains open at depth and along strike.

Two drill rigs are currently operating at Conserrat as part of the wider regional program.

One rig will now be redeployed to Emilia to follow up on the high-grade intersection and test along strike and down dip.

Conserrat silver-gold project

E2 Metals’ Conserrat project is along trend of AngloGold Ashanti’s Cerro Vanguardia mine.

Combined historical and current reserves at Cerro Vanguardia amount to 8.9Moz of gold and 137Moz of silver.

During the March 2021 quarter, drilling at Mia continued to hit gold and silver.

Notable intercepts during resource drilling at Mia were 7.3m at 3.2g/t gold and 444g/t silver from 67.1m, including 3m at 7.5g/t gold and 532g/t silver from 71.4m; and 9.8m at 12.8g/t gold and 381g/t silver from 45m, including 2.6m at 42g/t gold and 1,164g/t silver from 50.1m.
