ApplyDirect adds second major government tender to its bag

Recruitment technology and digital marketing company ApplyDirect (ASX: AD1) has won a tender with the Victorian Government to manage it government careers portal.

The tender will involve ApplyDirect redesigning, building, hosting and maintaining the portal, as well as providing digital marketing services.

“One of our key priorities for the 2018 financial year was to secure another large government contract, and to have achieved this success with the second largest employer in the country at this point in the financial year is particularly pleasing,” ApplyDirect chief executive officer Lorcan Barden said.

“Specifically, the inherent structure of government requires that the direct candidate attraction solution cascades to each level,” Mr Barden said.

“This maximises the candidate attraction strategy, while also ensuring the continuity of user experience across the whole of government, it’s departments and its services.”

The news follows yesterday’s announcement that the New South Wales Government had engaged ApplyDirect to develop a mobile app to support its government careers portal, which ApplyDirect previously designed, developed and implemented.

Since mid-2017, ApplyDirect has also been hosting, maintaining and providing digital marketing services for the NSW Government careers portal.

ApplyDirect plans to develop the app for iOS and Android devices with a launch deadline of 31 March.

Mr Barden said he anticipated the latest agreement with the Victorian Government would result in additional opportunities, similar to its contract with the NSW Government.

“The combined departments and services of the Victorian and NSW governments represent in excess of 300 opportunities for ApplyDirect to implement its unique recruitment solutions,” he said.

“Further, the significant benefit that can be derived from the full ApplyDirect solution provides a compelling incentive for them to implement.”

Prior to its state government contracts, ApplyDirect secured a partnership with Mercury Group of Companies – the healthcare sector’s largest workforce management software supplier.

Via its agreement with Mercury Group, ApplyDirect’s HealthBuzz platform was connected to Mercury Group’s workforce management software and has been directly bringing together employers and candidates within the health sector across Australia since 2016.

In mid-afternoon trade, ApplyDirect’s share price had risen more than 8% to A$0.12.
