The Indomitable Camp in Western Australia continues to come up roses for junior explorer Alto Metals (ASX: AME) with further high-grade gold drilling results revealed.

The company today reported its latest results from the major ongoing drilling program at its 100% owned Sandstone project, in which 29 extensional reverse circulation (RC) holes were drilled at Indomitable and Indomitable North for a total of 5,067 metres.

Drilling successfully extended known mineralisation outside of the resource with 28 of the 29 holes hitting gold mineralisation.

Significant near-surface, high-grade gold results were: 20m at 6.9 grams per tonne gold from 35m, including 1m at 97.8g/t gold; 10m at 3.2g/t from 69m, including 2m at 11.3g/t; 10m at 2.8g/t from 27m, including 1m at 19.5g/t and 10m at 1.1g/t; and 4m at 9.1g/t from 83m, including 1m at 27.1g/t gold.

These latest results follow previous announcements of high-grade gold hits near the surface made by the explorer in June and July.

“Indomitable is consistently delivering shallow, high-grade gold results and we are looking forward to incorporating all of these results into the updated mineral resource estimate planned for the end of the year,” Alto managing director Matthew Bowles said.

Drilling rig moves to Musketeer target

Mr Bowles said first pass drilling over the Indomitable East prospect has now been completed and the drilling rig has been moved to the “exciting” Musketeer target, located 600m southwest of Indomitable along a parallel trend.

Once drilling is completed at Musketeer, the rig will return to Indomitable and Indomitable North for follow-up drilling.

The Indomitable Camp is a large and underexplored mineralised system that is currently defined over a strike length of more than 2km and is hosted within a 20km-plus long gold corridor.

Sandstone’s major ongoing drilling program

Alto is planning for 60,000m to be drilled at the Sandstone project under a major ongoing campaign targeting resource growth, and exploration at existing resources and several advanced regional prospects.

In addition to the 20,000m wide-spaced, extension and resource definition drilling planned for Indomitable, 7,000m of first pass RC drilling was completed at Lord Nelson and Juno, and planning is in progress for further drilling at Lord Nelson, Juno, Lords Granodiorite, Vanguard.

Targeting is also underway for priority regional targets including Oroya, Sandstone North and Bulchina Trend.
