Aldoro Resources to undertake FLEM survey to refine Narndee drill targets

In search of the next Julimar, Aldoro Resources (ASX: ARN) is poised to begin a high-power fixed loop electromagnetic (FLEM) survey at its flagship Narndee nickel-copper-platinum group elements project in Western Australia.

Aldoro expects the FLEM survey will enable a “deeper understanding” of the targets within the project and assist with planning the upcoming drilling program.

HPEM Geophysical Services has been engaged to undertake the survey which is due to begin mid-next month.

Southern Geoscience Consultants will review the data, with Aldoro expecting overall interpretation of the results and drill target selection will have been completed in four to six weeks.

Narndee remains core focus

Aldoro has already firmed up 16 major targets at Narndee and carried out a 1,004 line km VTEM Max survey.

The targets comprise seven clear, discreet bedrock conductors and nine broader, deeper anomalies.

Aldoro claims Narndee lies within Australia’s largest layered mafic-ultramafic complex – with the exploration licences predominantly covering the ultramafic portion of the Narndee Igneous Complex.

At Narndee, Aldoro hopes to emulate Chalice Gold Mines’ (ASX: CHN) Julimar discovery in March this year which hosts broad zones of nickel, copper and PGE.

In its first ever drill hole at Julimar, Chalice struck 19m at 2.59% nickel, 1.04% copper, 8.37 grams per tonne palladium and 1.11g/t platinum from 48m. This included a higher-grade zone of 13m at 3.15% nickel, 1.19% copper, 8.85g/t palladium and 1.09g/t platinum.

Back at Narndee, a recent review of limited historic exploration at Narndee revealed a drill intercept of 3m at 0.43% nickel, 0.5% copper and 0.19g/t platinum and palladium.

However, Aldoro noted there was little or no follow up on these limited results.

New focus

Additionally, Aldoro managing director Caedmon Marriott pointed out much of the previous exploration between 1970 and early 2000s had focused on a “rigid Bushveld” model with companies in search of a South Africa-style PGE reef.

Mr Marriott said Aldoro’s exploration at Narndee will centre on a magmatic nickel-copper sulphides and attempt to locate geological hosts similar to those found at IGO’s (ASX: IGO) Nova-Bollinger in WA’s Fraser Range, Chalice’s Julimar and Vale’s Voisey’s Bay.
